WAKE FOREST  James (Jim) C. Davis, 83, passed away on December 12th, 2021. He was the beloved husband of Barbara Davis for 63 years, loving father to Jimmy Davis (Sharon Davis), Jackie Pace (Nathan Pace), and Karen Darroch (Todd Darroch). Grandfather to Paul Davis (Brittany Davis), Josh Barker (Ivonne Barker), Karla Holt (Chris Holt), and Alexis Owens. Great grandfather to Marley and Bradley Davis, and Adalyn, Aubrey and Avery Holt. Jim graduated from Millbrook High School in 1956 and was on the first Millbrook football team. He spoke often about his time on the team and his nickname "Crazy legs" along with the "Battle of Siler City". Jim was a veteran of the US Marine Reserves, US Coast Guard, and served as a City of Richmond (VA) police officer. He was a dedicated Greyhound bus driver for over twenty years. He drove ten of those years for NC State Wolfpack athletic teams, beginning with the 1974 NCAA men's basketball National Champions. He also drove for the football and baseball teams. He made many lasting friendships with the coaches, players, and players' parents. Many of these friends stayed in touch with him over the years; he loved his Wolfpack family. In his retirement, he enjoyed spending time with his family. His family and friends will remember the stories he shared and the memories they made forever.
