March 6, 1937 – May 3, 2025
James Dolpheus Dupree was born to E.A.Dupree and Kathleen Holder in Wake County, NC and was the oldest of nine children. He was know to family and friends as "JD." He is survived by Jonnie Thompson, Garner NC, Cathy Perry, Pennsylvania and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Polly Wade, Nancy Wade, Jeanie Squires, Bonnie Satterwaite and brothers John Satterwhite and David Satterwaite.
JD loved country music, history, and traveling to his favorite places, the Grand Ole Opry, Blue Ridge Parkway, the mountains of NC, Lake Royale and the NC coast. He loved spending time with his fishing buddies David James, Tom Chalk and Wayne Fryar.
JD enjoyed Sandra James reading The Tar Heel Traveler and other books to him while he was at Bella Rose Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Garner.
After many years of roofing, he retired from Pearce Bros Roofing Co. During retirement, he discovered a love for woodworking. JD would create beautiful items for sale and often gifting his work to his family.
JD was a gentle, kind and generous man. His love for his chihuahuas, who were his constant companions, was known by all. JD touched many lives and will be missed by all that knew and loved him.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made in JD's memory to the Wake County SPCA.
