Obituary of James Eagle

James Raeford Eagle, 71, of Garner, died Monday, June 1, 2009.

Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in Montlawn Funeral Home Chapel. Interment with Full Military Honors will follow in Montlawn Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. Thursday at Montlawn Funeral Home.

A native of Iredell County, James was the son of the late George and Nora Hall Eagle. James served his country in the United States Navy and Air Force, finally retiring from the Army National Guard with over 22 years of service. After his military career, James worked and later retired from the City of Raleigh.

James is survived by his daughter, Sara Stuart, her husband Don and James' two granddaughters , Alexis and Samantha Stuart, all of Clayton; brother, George L. Eagle of Liberty; sisters, Joyce Wood and Ruby Watkins, both of Greensboro.

James was preceded in death by his wife, Norma Roberson Eagle; daughter, Sandra Michelle Conrad; his infant son, James David Eagle; brother, Bobby Eagle and a sister, Hazel Warren.
