RALEIGH

James Martin Thrower "Jimmy" 54, went to heaven on September 28th 2021. He was born in Raleigh on March 20th 1967 to James Elder Thrower and Diane Marie Futrell. He was Preceded in death by his Mom and Dad, Diane and Freddie Futrell; Father in law, Raymond Lawson; Sister in law, Patricia Humphries and many brothers and sisters in uniform.

Jimmy served in the National Guard for 4 years with honorary discharge. From there he Spent roughly 20 Years between Dunn Police Department and Benson Police Department as a Sergeant with Criminal Investigations and Narcotics. He then went to work with DynCorp International and Spent 5 years In Afghanistan as a Senior Police advisor where he survived multiple suicide bombings and fire fights. In his free time he enjoyed having a pig cooking on the grill while spending time with his wife of 35 years Vicky and the rest of his family. He loved his trips to the Mountains and riding his motorcycle but most of all telling old stories and silly jokes with his friends.

He leaves to cherish his memory his devoted Wife of 35 years, Vicky Thrower; his best fur buddy Rusty; Daughter Monica Thrower and her Husband Joshua Watts; his youngest daughter, Kayla Thrower and his Grand-daughter "butterbean" Brianna Belanovich and Bonus grandson, Robert "Trey"Goss; his Sisters, Tammy Farley, Pamela Stuffel, & Tracie Bragg; Brothers, Dwayne Futrell & Lil' Freddie Futrell; his best friend/cousin Michael Gray; several nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles along with the many hearts he's touched all around this world.

A funeral service will be held at 3:00 pm on Sunday, October 3, 2021 at Montlawn Funeral Home and Cremations, 2911 South Wilmington Street, Raleigh, NC 27603. The family will receive friends one hour before the service from 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm. Flower arrangements are welcome and any donations can be given to his wife Vicky Thrower.
