James Timmy (Tim) Pollard age 71 of Benson, NC passed away Saturday August 31st 2024. Tim was a devoted husband to his wife Amanda of 26 years. He loved traveling the country with Amanda. Frequently you would find him with his feet in the sand in Myrtle Beach. Tim was an amazing father to his children. Travis Pollard (wife Wendy) of Erwin, NC. Renee Santana (husband Michael) of Lexington, KY. Jordan Beecham (wife Stephanie) of Atlanta, GA. Jonathan Beecham of Raleigh, NC.

He is survived by his sister Jennifer Edwards (husband Mitchell) of Dunn, NC, who's teddy bear he enjoyed beating up as a child. Tim is also survived by his growing extended family that include many nieces and nephews as well as 9 grandchildren.

Tim earned his Bachelor's degree in Business at Campbell University and worked at Alcatel 20 years and NC State University where he retired in 2016. He was a devoted Christian guiding many to a relationship with the lord. He and Amanda attend service at The Capital Church in Garner. They were regulars at many of the gospel music concerts and loved traveling with the Benson Senior Center trips.

Little known facts about Tim, he had a sweet tooth strawberry cake plus cookout shakes being his favorite. Tim's favorite music was Gospel and Motown music. Tim had a mean Elvis impersonation, and could moonwalk. Tim played highschool and college basketball. He was an avid sports fan and NCSU fanatic. He coached his children's softball and baseball teams. Tim took pride in the appearance of his home. He enjoyed mowing the lawn, planting gardens, and his favorite hobby was raising bluebirds. Tim would build his own bluebird houses, and go to great lengths to protect them from squirrels and snakes. Tim also volunteered at the Raleigh Rescue Mission where he assisted those with food insecurity. He also helped at the food pantry at the Capital Church.

All Funeral Services will be held at the Capital Church in Garner, NC on Friday September 6th 2024.
