Obituary of Janey Baker

Janey Weathers Baker, 85, of Stella, formerly of Fuquay-Varina, died Sunday afternoon at Onslow Memorial Hospital in Jacksonville.

Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in Montlawn Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in Montlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday evening.

A native of Wake County, Janey was born May 21, 1924, the daughter of the late James Garland Weathers and Lucy Babb Weathers. She was a retired hairdresser and lived in Fuquay-Varina until 1999 when she moved to Stella to be near her daughter.

Janey is survived by her daughter, Susan Carroll and her husband, Danny of Stella; granddaughter, Kori McIntyre and her husband, Jeff of Charlotte; grandsons, Joseph Carroll of Denver, CO, Shane Carroll of Blowing Rock; sisters, Patsy Brown of Raleigh, Jackie Day of Willow Spring; brothers, Peal Weathers of Fuquay-Varina, Wade Weathers of Raleigh; sisters in-law, Frances Weathers and Foy Weathers of Fuquay-Varina and Linda Weathers of Holly Springs.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne Lee Baker and her brothers, Alvin Weathers, Clarence Weathers, Robert Weathers and Phillip Weathers.
