Obituary of Jerry Santoro

Jerry Edward Santoro, 82, of Raleigh died Sunday at VA Hospital. He was a US Navy veteran. He was preceded in death by his parents Gennaro and Filomena Napolitano Santoro, brothers John Santoro, twin brother Nick Santoro, and sister Sophie Rosenberg and step-sisters Ida Capanear and Julia Ferrara; brothers-in-law Arthur Strickland, Joe Miller, Alvin Ostendorf, Jack Burton; sister-in-law, Julia Strickland.

Jerry is survived by his wife, Linda Strickland; his daughter Sandra Santoro; his son Jerry Dane Santoro (Bernadette) and their mother, Doris; his step-son Jay Daunoy (Stephanie); grandsons, Jerry Robert Santoro (Denise) Christopher and Nicholas Daunoy and his great-grandson Nicholas Santoro; his sister Linda Walter (Fred); step-brothers, Elio (Joann), Alfred (Bella) and Mario (Barbara) Santoro; step-sister, Olga McLellan (Ralph); brothers-in-law Jack Rosenberg, Donald Capanear, Charlie Ferrara, J.D. Strickland, Jennings Strickland (Debbie); and sisters-in-law, Loree Harris (Dennis), Peggy Burton, Evelyn Ostendorf, Dot Miller, Trudy and Lynn Strickland, Evelyn and Edna Santoro; numerous family, friends and fellow brothers of Knights of Columbus Council #2546 and their families.

The family will receive friends and relatives on Thursday, May 10 from 7:00-8:30 pm at Montlawn Funeral Home with a prayer service beginning at 8:15 pm. A mass of Christian burial will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday at St. Mary Mother of the Church Catholic Church in Garner. Entombment will follow at Montlawn Memorial Park Mausoleum.
