Jimmie W. Coats, 71, passed away on February 28, 2011. He was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce Coats, and his parents, Mr. Willard Coats and Edith Rodgers Coats.

He is survived by his son, Todd Coats and wife, Cindy of Wake Forest, N.C., granddaughter, Isabella Coats of Wake Forest, N.C., sister, Gail Chappell and husband, Ted of Raleigh, companion, Dee Hill of Charlotte, N.C. his " adopted" son, Linwood Piper and many car club buddies, several nieces and nephews.

Jimmie had a passion for restoring classic cars and car shows. He loved his church family at Caraleigh Baptist Church, his " Rambling Rebels" and " Good Guys" car club friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made in his memory to the North Carolina Alzheimer's Association at www.alznc.org.

Funeral service will be held on Friday, March 4, 2011 at Montlawn Funeral Home Chapel at 1:00 p.m. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
