Obituary of Jo Ann Jones

Jo Ann Rollins Jones, 80, of Raleigh, died Tuesday morning, March 1, 2011 at Rex Health Care.

A Celebration of her Life will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday, March 9, 2011 at Montlawn Funeral Home Chapel. A private family burial will be held at Montlawn Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:30 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. Wednesday prior to the service.

A native of Pitt County, Jo Ann was born October 16, 1930, the daughter of Clinton and Leona Faircloth Rollins. She was a graduate of Needham Broughton High School and later became very active in the Broughton Alumni Association. Jo Ann was a 1952 graduate of the Rex Hospital School of Nursing and was a registered nurse in the medical practice of Dr. Hugh F. McManus, Jr. for 35 years and then joined the North Carolina Dept. of Health and Human Services as a nursing home inspector retiring after eight years of service.

Jo Ann is survived by her son, Robert Kenneth "Ken" Jones and his wife Lee of Garner; her beloved granddaughters, Kristen Jones Eads and her husband David, Katherine "Katie" Jones, all of Raleigh; brother, Bruce G. Rollins and his wife Nancy of Raleigh; nephews, Greg Rollins and Brad Rollins. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Dewey "Buddy" Jones.
