Obituary of Joan Viscounty

Joan French Viscounty, 86, of Wake Forest, passed away Friday, November 9, 2012 at her residence.

A Resurrection Liturgy will be held 4:00 p.m. Friday, November 16, 2012 at St. Mary of the Angels Chapel located on the grounds of St. Francis of Assisi, 11401 Leesville Road, Raleigh, NC 27613.

Born February 22, 1926 in Chicago, IL, Joan was the daughter of the late Barney F. French and Alice Wills French. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Clarence Viscounty and her beloved dog Jack.

Joan is survived by her son, Mark Christopher Viscounty of Katy, TX; daughters, Adrienne Sanders, of Katy, TX, Kim Viscounty and Fiance Jonathan Cravatta of Wake Forest; granddaughter Caroline Viscounty Sherril and husband Robert of Morrisville, NC, Mark Viscounty, Jr. of Katy, TX, and Christopher Watson of Lake Charles, LA.

Joan graduated from UNC-Chapel Hill at the age of 65 with a Masters Degree in Library Science. Being a hard worker, she enjoyed being a Librarian until retiring at the age of 75. Joan would often enjoy going to the YMCA with a friend to do water aerobics. She was intelligent, witty, had bright blue eyes, smiled all the time, and would usually be seen wearing pink. She enjoyed helping raise her granddaughter, Caroline.
