GARNER Joann A. Byrd, 85, was called home to be with her Lord February 24, 2022.

A native of Harnett County, Joann was the daughter of the late Eva Inez Barbour Adams and Theron Ray Adams. She was married to the late Carl R. Byrd. In addition to her parents and husband, she also was preceded in death by her son, Carl Ricky Byrd; and her brother, Theron Ray Adams, Jr.

She was the family's historian and was honored for the labor of love she displayed through her record keeping.

Survivors include her grandson and his wife, Chris and Wendy Byrd of Garner; great-grandchildren, Carleigh Reese Byrd, and Casey Ryan Byrd; sister, Delores Medlin of Willow Spring; brother, Michael Adams and Gail of Willow Spring; beloved family friends, Michelle Abernathy and Angie Anderson; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
