Obituary of Joel Black

Joel Norman Black, 84, died Thursday, April 11, 2013 at Rex Hospital. He was retired from the US Air Force and also was a warehouse worker with Hudson Belk.

Funeral services will be held 10 am Tuesday at Montlawn Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will be held at Salisbury National Cemetery.

Surviving are his son, Charles Lee Black and wife Diane of Sims; sister, Nancy Sanders of Oklahome; brothers, Marvin and Joe Ed Black of Texas; 7 nieces, Doris, Sherrie, Cindy, Leslie, Robin, LeAnn and Wendy; 3 nephews, Randy, Bill and Bill Wade; special family friend, Gloria Anderson along with numerous other friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Joel Alec Black and mother, Bonnie (Davis) Black and 2 brothers, Ike Black and Dalton Black; The family will receive friends at Montlawn Funeral Home from 7-9 pm on Monday.
