John Oliver Bond, 69, died Sunday, September 25, 2016 after a brief illness. He was the grandson of the late Leon and Mamie Hagwood. He was the son of the late B.O. and Mary Bond. John worked with IBM for 31 years and made many special friends during his years as a photographer.
He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years Brenda Lee Bond; special daughter Cheryl Hicks and husband Ronnie; his grandson which was the apple of his eye, Ashton Hicks; great grand dog, Cayou; brothers, Charles Bond (Ann), Kenneth Bond (Linda); step- grandchildren, Tiffany Hicks (Stephanie) and Brittany Hicks; step-great-grandchildren, Joshua and Khloe Hicks.
A celebration of his life will be held at 7:00 pm Wednesday, September 28, 2016 at Montlawn Funeral Home Chapel, 2911 S. Wilmington Street, Raleigh, NC 27603.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 7:00 pm Wednesday prior to the chapel service and other times at their home at 3017 Hunters Bluff Drive, Raleigh, NC 27606.
