Obituary of John Johnson, Jr.
John L. "Jack" Johnson Jr. died on September 29, 2015 after an eight-year struggle with cancer. He was born on September 12, 1936 in Jamaica, New York to the late Dot and Johnnie Johnson, he is survived by his wife, Louise, of Cary; his sister, Marilyn, of California; three sons, four grandchildren and Brenda, sister-in-law, and husband, Boyd of Graham, NC. Gary, the oldest son, resides in Florida with wife, Yvette, and children Nicholas and Alexis. Glen and wife, Cathy, reside in Massachusetts with sons Patrick and Kelley. Steve, the youngest son, resides in Florida. A graduate of Dartmouth and Cornell, Jack worked as a chemical engineer and later, had a successful career as a stockbroker and insurance agent. He had a genuine passion for sports including golf, Duke Basketball, the annual "March Madness", and the New England Patriots. Jack was strong in his faith and love for the Lord. He became an inspiration to all who knew him through his many interactions with Colonial Baptist Church and his Lifespring ABF class. A memorial service will be conducted at 11:00 am on Saturday, October 3rd at Colonial Baptist Church in Cary. The family will receive friends following the service in the Cafe. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be to Wisdom for the Heart through Colonial Baptist Church.
