John Kwesi Odoom, age 88, of Ghana, West Africa, passed away peacefully at his home in Raleigh, North Carolina, on May 7, 2025. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, one sister, and beloved grandson, Derrick Dankwa.

He leaves behind a legacy of love and faith, cherished by his devoted wife, Josephine Odoom, and his children: Vibeke Isabella Frølich, Vibeke Odoom Dankwa, Charles Owusu Odoom, John Kojo Odoom (Verna), and Ellen Odoom Horne.

John was a proud grandfather to: Sebastian Frølich, Lily Simpson (Micah), Rhoda Dankwa, Luther Dankwa, Terrence Dankwa, Jacob Kweku Odoom, Jonathan Odoom, Sarafina Odoom, Micah Odoom, Makaila Odoom, Mattia Odoom, Myles Horne, and Mason Horne. He was also blessed with great-grandchildren: Aliyah Simpson, Brielle Simpson, and Raine Dankwa.

John retired after 25 years of dedicated service at Cone Mills in Greensboro, NC. He was known for his wisdom, humor, and warm smile - qualities that endeared him to all who knew him. Though he is no longer with us, his love and memory will remain forever in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
