John David Stott, age 51, passed away on Tuesday, October 12, 2021. He was born at Abbott Hospital in Minneapolis, Hennepin County, Minnesota on May 5, 1970. He was preceded in death by his grandparents David Thayer Stott and Emma Oelrich Stott. His aunts, Gayl Stott Northup, Doris Stott Ellsworth & his uncle John Howard Ellsworth.

John joined the United States Army at age 17. He served active duty in the infantry from October 1987 until November 1989. In civilian life, John was employed as a computer technician in the Information Technology field.

John leaves to cherish his memory:  his mother, Eileen Stott of Apex, NC; a daughter, Rachel Stott of Plainfield, NJ, and his widow, Cathryn Stott.

The family will receive friends on Friday, October 22, 2021 from 10:00am to 11:00am at Montlawn Funeral Home, 2911 South Wilmington Street, Raleigh, NC 27603 followed by a chapel service at 11:00 and interment at Montlawn Cemetery.
