In loving memory of John Dalton Tomlinson, who passed away on January 10th, 2024, at the age of 75. A man who truly left a mark on those around him. His doctor said it best. "They broke the mold when they made him". With his unforgettable sense of humor, he brought joy to countless lives. It's hard to think of any encounter with him where he wasn't trying to get a smile or reaction out of someone.

Born and raised in Raleigh, John graduated from Enloe high school and received a degree in accounting from Hardbarger Business School. He had a lifelong dedication to NC State sports and a passion for music. He spent his life in a career he truly loved as the Embers Band booking agent for over 50 years. He was also an asset to numerous other Carolina Beach Music Bands. John's influence and impact on the bands he interacted with were profound.

His favorite holiday was Christmas, embodying the joy of giving and showing his love to his family. Above all, his love for his wife Paula, and the rest of his family, who he was survived by, including his brother and best friend Bobby, sons John and Josh Tomlinson, John Barnes and wife Keri, brother-in-law James Vernon and wife Ruth Ann, nephew Tommy, and cherished granddaughter Lily and grandson Damon, defined the essence of his rich life.

John always expressed deep gratitude for the parents who raised him, Mr. and Ms. T. His appreciation for family values and the foundation they provided shaped the man he became.

John will deeply be missed, but his laughter and unique sense of humor will forever resonate in our hearts.
