Johnny Randall Boggs passed away Friday, June 8, 2018 at the age of 74. He was born October 7, 1943 in Monroe County, West Virginia to the late Randall Paul Boggs and Ethel Belle Boggs.

In 1964, he married the love of his life, Renate "Renee" Boggs, who preceded him in death in 2016.  Johnny is survived by his daughter, Michelle Renee Boggs of Raleigh NC and his older sisters, Shirley Elizabeth Dove of NC and Phyllis Law of CA and their children.

Johnny and Renee lived the majority of their 54 year marriage in Chesapeake, VA and relocated several years ago to Benson, NC to be closer to their daughter.  He also served in the US Army National Guard. Johnny had a successful career as a Customs Manager, working at General Electric and Ericsson before retiring about 10 years ago.

Johnny enjoyed finding and restoring antique cars and has had many in his lifetime.  He also enjoyed attending classic car shows up and down the East Coast.  He loved the water and living near the Chesapeake Bay which allowed him to enjoy various water sports.  He loved the mountains, as a reminder of his birthplace and lived over ten years in the Lynchburg, VA area.

Johnny was a kind and gentle man with a warm smile, and a great sense of humor and will be missed by friends and family.

A private funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 14, 2018 at Montlawn Funeral Home and Memorial Park at 2911 S Wilmington St, Raleigh, NC 27603.
