Jonathan Miles Pittman, 8, of Raleigh, NC passed on March 27, 2016. Jonathan was born on July 20, 2007 to Chanda Pittman and Thomas Harrison. Jonathan loosely translates to "gift from God" (Yahweh has given), and he truly was an amazing person. Jonathan was full of joy and a blessing to everyone he met. He had a sweet heart and always looked for ways to help those around him.
He was a self-proclaimed "Wii Master" and "soccer ball magnet!" He also answered to J, Miles, JP, or MileMile, if he wasn't engrossed in a video game or one of his favorite shows. He loved playing with any willing party, always making a game out of hiding and jumping out in an attempt to surprise unsuspecting family. He was constantly in motion, playing various sports and play fighting around imaginary or real obstacles. He also enjoyed remote control cars, and making his assortment of robots and action figures fight. He always had a smile on his face and enjoyed the simple things of life, such as taking his shoes and socks off and throwing them anywhere - frequently in multiple locations.
Jonathan was survived by his parents, Chanda Pittman and Thomas Harrison; his grandparents, Henry "Pa Pa" and Delphine Pittman and grandmother, Estella Harrison-Egerton; aunts and uncles, Elisha and Michael Johnson, Christopher Pittman, and Tunisia and Cody Harrison; cousins, Michaela and Camille Johnson, Chance and Madison Harrison, and Zoe Brown.
Jonathan's family will receive friends on Friday, April 1, 2016 from 6-8 pm at Montlawn Funeral Home, 2911 S. Wilmington St., Raleigh. A service honoring Jonathan's life will be held Saturday, April 2, 2016 at 12 Noon at World Overcomers Christian Church, 2933 S. Miami Blvd, Durham followed by the interment at Montlawn Memorial Park.
