Jonnie Mae S. Thompson

March 1, 1947 - October 15, 2025

Jonnie S. Thompson was born to John Langley Satterthwaite, Sr. and Kathleen Holder Satterthwaite in Wake County, NC.  She is survived by a sister, Cathy Perry, Pennsylvania and many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, sisters Polly Wade, Nancy Wade, Jeanie Squires, Bonnie Satterthwaite and brothers James "JD" Dupree, John Satterthwaite, Jr., and David Satterthwaite.

Jonnie was especially close to her nephew, Tim Lee.  He was her go to for answers to any problem that she couldn't figure out for herself.  He also stepped up when her brother, JD passed away this year. Yard work needed to be taken care of, house repairs were done by him, and companionship was taken into account since she was now all alone.

Jonnie worked for many years at Buffaloe Lanes North.  During that time, she was loved and respected by all the employees and patrons.  Jonnie was a gentle, kind and generous woman. Her love for her dogs was known by all.  Jonnie touched many lives and will be missed by all that knew and loved her.

Frances "Frankie" McDaniel was a very dear friend and recently travel buddy.  The two of them were on s cruise to the Bahamas in September.  Frankie's daughter, Melissa, took care of both of the ladies as best she could.

In lieu of flowers, donations of crocheted hats for preemie babies and cancer patients can be made in her memory.  Jonnie crocheted these items and delivered them personally to the local hospitals.
