Obituary of Joseph Bass

Joseph Vernon Bass, 70, of Raleigh, died Tuesday, October 5, 2010 at his home.

Graveside Funeral Service will be held 11 a.m. Friday at Montlawn Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends at Montlawn Funeral Home from 6-8 p.m. Thursday.

A native of Robeson County, Joseph was born February 16, 1940, the son of the late Vern and Josie Cox Bass. He was retired from Winn-Dixie Stores with 30 years service and from Dillards Stores with 18 years service. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and loved the outdoors.

Joseph is survived by his wife, Peggy Bridges Bass; daughters, Karen Carroll Beasley of Bailey, Linda Miles of Apex; grandson, Jonathan Carroll of Bailey; brothers, Vardell Bass of Lumberton and Cortex Bass of Lakeview, SC.
