Obituary of Josephine Connely

Josephine Thelma Poole Connely, 91, of Huntington Beach, CA, originally from Raleigh, NC, passed away Thursday morning, May 28, 2015 at her daughter's home.

Born January 4, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Walter J. Poole and Ethel Beasley Poole. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Glen E. Connely; brothers, William Strickland, Herman Poole, Walter Poole, Eddie Mac Poole; sisters, Swanie Mitchelle, and Yavonne Poole.

Josephine is survived by her daughter, Sandra Lee Meoli; grandson, Michael C. Meoli and wife Erin; great-granchildren, Brooklyn and Reese Meoli; brother, Ronnie Penny; sister, Jennete Robbinson; sister-n-law, Doris Poole; and many nieces and nephews.

Josephine graduated from Garner High School in 1941, and worked at Southern Bell as a Supervisor in the Traffic Department for 40 years. After retirement, she was able to spend time working on the farm with her brother and the Kirk's Farm, and surf fishing. She adored being a grandmother and doting on her only grandchild Michael. Josephine will be sorely missed by her family, especially her daughter Sandra.

A Funeral Service will be held 11:45 a.m., Wednesday, June 10, 2015 at Montlawn Funeral Home Chapel. Entombment will follow at Montlawn Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 10:45-11:45 a.m., prior to the service.
