Obituary of Joyce Archer-Thomas
Joyce E. Archer-Thomas, 70, of Sanford passed away December 9, 2011 at UNC Hospital - Chapel Hill.
A Memorial Service will be held 3:00 p.m. Saturday, December 17, 2011 at Crossroads Church. Burial will follow at Morris Chapel Church.
Born October 6, 1941 in Norfolk, VA, she was the daughter of the late Logan Archer and Betty Palermo Archer. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Roy Thomas.
Joyce leaves behind her daughter Brenda Maddox-Murphy; grandson Stacy J. Murphy, Jr.; granddaughter Justine Murphy; great-granddaughter, Jaden Lee Murphy; son, Richard "Rick" Maddox and family; family and friends, William "Bill" Henninger, Jr., and Stacy J. Murphy, Sr.
Joyce cherished attending Crossroads Church and Morris Chapel Church. She also enjoyed helping in Brownies and Cub Scouts, camp, and fishing activities, being a cab driver and a door greeter at Wal-Mart. Joyce loved life, people, and making new friends.
