Judith Goodman Braudwell, beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully at the age of 82. Born in Raleigh, North Carolina, on June 24, 1944, Judy was the daughter of William Earl Goodman and Mary Jane Goodman (née Jones).
A proud graduate of Cary High School's Class of 1962, Judy spent much of her career serving the people of North Carolina through her work with the North Carolina General Assembly, where she provided administrative and secretarial support with dedication and professionalism. Her kindness, attention to detail, and strong work ethic earned the respect and appreciation of colleagues throughout her years of service.
In 1983, Judy relocated to Tennessee, where she built a life and raised her family. Though she embraced her Tennessee home, her heart always remained in North Carolina, the place where her roots ran deep and where many of her fondest memories were made.
Judy was preceded in death by her parents, William Earl Goodman and Mary Jane Goodman, and by her cousin, Sharon Creech, who was more like a sister than a cousin and held a cherished place in her life.
She leaves behind a loving family who will forever treasure her memory: her daughter, Robin Reymond and husband Eric of Hamden, Connecticut; her son, Keith Braudwell and wife Amy of Cookeville, Tennessee; and her beloved grandchildren, Lucy Abigail Braudwell and Oliver Daniel Braudwell. She is also survived by extended family members and dear friends whose lives were enriched by her warmth, loyalty, and caring spirit.
Judy will be remembered for her devotion to family, her gentle nature, and lasting love she shared with those around her. Though she lived many years in Tennessee, she never lost her connection to North Carolina, a place she carried with her always.
Her family finds comfort in knowing that her legacy lives on through the many lives she touched and through the love she instilled in her children and grandchildren
Family will receive friends on Monday, July 29, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at Montlawn Funeral Home. Funeral Services will follow at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Montlawn Funeral Home with the Rev. Pastor Della Grace Hargis officiating.
Interment will follow in Montlawn Memorial Park.
Her love, kindness, and joyful spirit will be treasured forever by all who knew and loved her.
Family Tribute
A precious one from us is gone, a voice we loved is still. A place is vacant in our home that never can be filled.
