Obituary of Karen Ross
Karen Granger Ross, 47, of Raleigh, passed away Thursday morning, August 16, 2012 at home, after a long and courageous battle with a rare form of cancer identified as leiomyosarcoma.
The Ross family will be holding a private memorial service at a later date.
Born March 27, 1965 in New Bedford, MA, Karen was the daughter of Omer Leo Granger and Patricia Tighe Granger of Sun City West, AZ. In addition to her parents, she is survived by her loving husband of 20 years, Lou T. Ross of Raleigh; brothers, Mark Granger, Jeffrey Granger and wife Lynda of Middleboro, MA; and many nieces and nephews.
Karen graduated in 1988 with a Bachelor's Degree in English and went on to work at SAS Institute for four years as a Technical Writer. She was loved by many people for her amazing personality. Karen was always upbeat, even in the face of difficult times. She will also be remembered as a fabulous writer, who will be sorely missed by all who knew her.
In lieu of flowers, the Ross family request that donations be made in honor of Karen to the American Cancer Society. This can be completed typing her full name on The American Cancer Society website.
