Kate Harrison Ward, 98 of Raleigh, passed away Monday, June 13, 2022 at UNC-Rex Healthcare Center.  She was born January 29, 1924 in Hampton County, SC to the late William F., and Catherine Bowers Harrison. Kate was a member of Hillyer Memorial Christian Church, and enjoyed traveling, gardening, cooking and being with her family and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John A. Ward, Jr., her brother, Kenneth Harrison, and her daughter-in-law, Kathy M. Ward.

Those left to cherish her memory include two sons; Harrison Ward of Willow Springs, NC, and Ken Ward and wife June Ann of Raleigh, two daughters; Susan Ward and husband Charles Sorrells of Pipersville, PA, and Kathy Wall and husband Vince of King City, OR, one sister; Sarah Corbin of Brunson, SC, and six grandchildren.

A memorial service celebrating Kate's life will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, June 20, 2022 in the chapel of Montlawn Funeral Home and Memorial Park with Dr. David Griffin officiating.  The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM-11:00 AM at the funeral home.
