Katherine Turner Wilder, a life long resident of Raleigh, NC, entered into her heavenly home on 10/11/2021 at Franklin Manor in Youngsville, NC. Katherine was born in Johnston County on 12/28/1933 to the late Daniel and Mae Turner.

She is survived by her husband, Freeman Charles Wilder of Raleigh, NC ; sons, Ronald Freeman Wilder ( Cindy), and Robert Craig Wilder (Glenna) all of Louisburg, NC; Grandsons, Anderson Wilder( Jammie), Blake Wilder( Kristen), Avery Wilder and Grayson Wilder; two great grandchildren, Asher and Reeves Wilder; sisters, Geraldine Frank ( Kurt) of Cary, NC and Evelyn Meachum of Palmetto, Florida , and brother Johnnie Turner (Louise) of Durham, NC;  as well as several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her parents; brother and sister-in-law, DW and Mary Frances Turner; and sister and brother-in-law, Mary and Verlin Campbell

She graduated from Wake Forest High School in Wake Forest, NC and Hardbarger Business College in Raleigh, NC.

She was joined in marriage to Freeman Charles Wilder on 7/24/1954 in a double wedding ceremony with her deceased brother and sister-in- law, DW Turner and Mary Frances Turner.

Katherine retired in 1996 from the Department of Corrections and Parole after 21 years of service.

A member of Athens Drive Church since 1962, Katherine was a very active member teaching the 4 and 5 year old class for many years and was involved in many church activities and church mission trips to Honduras. She and Freeman had many lifelong friendships with members of Athens Drive and as a group, frequently traveled, went camping, and enjoyed many good times together throughout the years. Katherine loved people and had many friends throughout the area.

A funeral service is scheduled for Monday, 10-18-21 @ 11:00 am at Montlawn Funeral Home Chapel at 2911 S Wilmington St, Raleigh, NC 27603 .

There will be a visitation for family and friends at the same location on Sunday, 10-17-2021 from 6 pm to 8:pm.
