Katie Andrews, 61, went to heaven on October 9, 2019.  She was born in Greenville, North Carolina to the late Clyde Staton and Katie Lee Flythe and is also preceded in death by her sister Zenaida (Zena) Flythe.

She leaves to cherish her memory two sons, Donnie Ray Andrews, Jr., of Wendell, NC and Demetrius Devon Andrews of Enfield, NC.  She is also survived by two daughters, Tina A. Andrews of Tarboro, NC and Katina A. Andrews of Rocky Mount, NC.  Katie leaves behind four brothers and one sister to cherish her memory:  Austin Staton, of Tarboro, NC; Bennie Wilkins, Ernest Flythe, William Flythe (Camille), and Maria Flythe, all of Philadelphia, PA.   She is also survived by Donnie Ray Andrews, Sr., whom she was married to for over twenty years; nine grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and a host of nephews, nieces, and cousins.

Katie attended Edgecombe County School as a child.  She worked at North Carolina State University for a number of years until she became sick.  She returned back to work working part-time for McDonald's.  She loved working and could not sit still.  She did not mind trying to help anyone and also loved dancing and music.
