Obituary of Kenneth Ray

Kenneth McCoy Ray, 71, died at his residence on Tuesday evening. He was a retired manager with Winn Dixie after 35 years of service. He was a member of the Garner Masonic Lodge and was a loving husband, father and father-in-law who enjoyed Nascar, fishing and spending time with his family at the beach.

A funeral service will held 11:30 am Friday at Elizabeth United Methodist Church in Smithfield. Interment will follow at Montlawn Memorial Park.

Surviving are his wife of 50 years, Harriet P. Ray; daughter, Pam Knight and husband Alan of Clayton; brother, Charles Douglas Ray of Elm City; several nieces and nephews; special sisters-in-law, Doris Rogers and Nancy Patton.

The family will receive friends at the church from 10:00 - 11:30 am Friday, prior to the service.
