Obituary

Kenneth Wooten, 75 formerly of Raleigh, NC was diagnosed with CJD October 1 st and passed away
peacefully in his sleep at home on October 25 th , 2022. He was born to John and Gertrude Wooten in 1947. He graduated from Garner High School in 1966.

Kenneth married Connie in 1980 and worked at Rockwell Int. He left there to run Ray's grocery
for a few years and then returned to the plant (Flo-Serve) and retired from there in 2010.
Kenneth loved life and his family. The house was always loud as the grandchildren always wanted to be
there and hang out with him. His two passions beside his wife were fishing and gardening and he moved
to Lake Gaston to pursue both. He helped raise many of the grandchildren and their friends taking them
tubing and teaching them to ski and fish.
His "fish tales" were notorious and his last one was of a 12 ft striper that he saw a man catch outside his
Wake Med rehab window. He had 2 giant bass that he caught in one day mounted to show just how
awesome he was.
Gardening was a big undertaking as he helped his neighbor to tend to his garden every year and when
moving to Lake Gaston had his own. It was not uncommon to have so many tomato plants that his
whole family and friends were blessed with the bounty. He always said that if you didn't love your
neighbor you didn't love God. He will be missed greatly.

He was predeceased by his parents and his sister Brenda Wooten.

Kenneth is survived by his loving wife of 42 years Connie Wooten, Children, Michele Ball (David), Bonnie
Hurlbrink, Valeshia Jones (Danny), Lori Hudson (Kerry), Teaky Parker (Jack), Jami Bazzle (Marla). 13
Grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren, sisters, Nancy Sawyer (Danny) and Janet Morris. Brothers John Wooten (Tracey) and David Wooten
(Denise).

The family would like to thank Wake Med and Wake Med Rehab for the diligent pursuit of his diagnosis
and for Hospice in his final days.
