Obituary of Larry Denning
Larry James Denning, 69, of Raleigh, passed away after a long and courageous battle with cancer on Sunday morning, September 2, 2012 at Wake Medical Center.
A Funeral Service will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday, September 6, 2012 at Montlawn Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Montlawn Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1 - 1:45 p.m. Thursday, prior to the service.
Born July 6, 1943 in Angier, NC, Larry was the son of the late Willie A. Denning and Pauline Salmon Denning. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his dearly beloved wife, Sharon V. Denning; brother, Norwood L. Denning; sister Barbara D. Dobson; nephew, Tony Seagroves; and niece, Paula E. Justice.
Larry is survived by his brother, Willie R. Denning and wife Pat of Wichita Falls, TX; sisters, Carol Chenoweth and husband Greg of Garner, Joyce Sargent and husband Mike of Garner; and many nieces and nephews.
Larry served his country as a Chief Petty Officer with the United States Navy as a Chief Engineman, where he retired after thirty years in service and two tours in Vietnam. He will truly be missed by all who knew him.
