Obituary of Lauretta Smith
Lauretta "Rusty" M. Smith, 89, of Raleigh, went to be with the Lord November 5, 2011 at her home.
A native of South Bend, Ind., Rusty graduated from the University of Washington in 1968. Before earning her degree, she served with the United States Coast Guard in the Women's Reserve, being honorably discharged in 1946.
Rusty married George Smith in 1949 in Seattle, Washington. The family lived in several states before the Smith's moved to Raleigh in 1981 to retire.
Rusty is survived by her husband, four children, eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
A Memorial Service is planned for November 9, 2011 at 11:00am at Peace Presbyterian Church in Cary.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Samaritan's Purse.
Arrangements are by Montlawn Funeral Home, 2911 S. Wilmington St., Raleigh, N.C. Condolences may be made at www.montlawn.com
