LaVerne Warren Powell is now with our heavenly Father and her favorite son, Billy.

Verne was born on August 23, 1929 in Tennessee to Essie Mae Lewis Warren, who died a short time later. She was raised by her aunt, Elizabeth Johnson. LaVerne married William Powell in 1952. Together they raised four children: Tina Powell Green, Terrie Powell, William, Jr., and Tammy Powell Kuehl.

Bill and LaVerne raised their children in a Christian household. That legacy will continue on by their loved ones: Cary and Tina Green, Nick and Mary Green Brezinski, Matt and Andrea Green, Chris and Rebecca (Becky) Green Jones, Terrie Powell, Joshua Blatt, Hannah Blatt, Marsha Lynn Powell, Christopher and Lauren Powell, Jim and Tammy Powell Kuehl, Alex and Leigha Kuehl Laws, Michael and Ashley Kuehl Dyer and Madison Kuehl.

The great grandchildren will be raised with same love and respect that Laverne (Nunner) showed all people. Blair Loraine Lassiter, Amaya Marie Laws, Jordyn Marie Brezinski, Hudson Jack Powell, and Adaline Jean Laws.

In lieu of flowers, the family request that friends and family perform random acts of kindness towards someone they love in her honor.
