Lawrence McKinley Bass

Mr. Lawrence McKinley Bass, 84, of Raleigh, died April 14, 2009.

Lawrence was born August 8, 1924, to the late Willie and Lucy Thorpe Bass. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge 350, St. Anna.

Lawrence is survived by his son Lloyd Ferrell, of Raleigh; daughters Joyce Blackmon, of Apex, Ella Morgan, of Garner, Janice Barham, of Charlotte; 20 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; 1 great great granddaughter; brother James Grey Bass; and two sisters Mittie Estelle Hunt and Roseanna Allen. Lawrence is predeceased by his wife Simora Ferrell Bass, son Lawrence Bass, Jr., and daughter Rhonda Bridges.

The family will receive friends Saturday, April 18, 2009, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., at Montlawn Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m. in the Montlawn Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Montlawn Memorial Park.
