Obituary of Lawrence Zell

Lawrence Eugene Zell, 76, of Raleigh and Port Ewen, NY, died Tuesday, August 10, 2010 at Rex HealthCare in Raleigh.

Funeral Service will be held 10 a.m. Monday at Montlawn Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Historic Oakwood Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6-8 Sunday.

A native of Ocean County, NJ, Lawrence was the son of Hugo and Anna Riester. He served in the United States Army and retired as a data specialist with IBM Corp. in Poughkeepsie, NY with over 30 years service.

Lawrence is survived by his wife, Melida Berg Zell; daughters, Lillian Eugenia Barranca (Victor) of Connelly, NY, Vivian Melida Cronin (Donald) and Susan Anna Griffith (Clay), all of Raleigh; grandchildren, Jennifer Adele Atkinson (Matt) of Dundee, FL; Victor James Hugo Barranca of Connelly, NY, Kenneth Daniel Cronin (Tiffany) and Lawrence's great grandson Sebastian Alan Cronin, all of Oxford, Michael Alan Cronin and Kimberly Anne Cronin, both of Raleigh; brother, George Zell of Florida and a sister, Mary Zell of New Hampshire. Lawrence was preceded in death by a brother, Anthony Zell.
