Leilia Bailey Harris, 93, of Raleigh passed away Sunday, September 2, 2018 at her daughter's home.  She was born December 4, 1924 in Franklin County to the late Edward Joseph and Gertrude Adler Bailey.  She was also preceded in death by her husband, Edsel Kelso Harris and two brothers, Edward and Sherwood Bailey.

Mrs. Harris retired from Dorothea Dix Hospital in Raleigh after more than 30 years of service.  She was an active and humble servant of Athens Drive Baptist Church.   She loved cooking and baking cakes for her church's fellowship meals and gathering with the ladies of her church for quilt making projects.

A funeral service will be held Friday, September 7th at 11:00 A.M. at Athens Drive Baptist Church with Rev. Tim Howell presiding.  Burial will follow in Montlawn Memorial Park.

She is survived by her daughter, Connie Harris Hockaday and husband Jeffrey of Raleigh, a brother, Wilbert Bailey and wife Carolyn of Knightdale, two grandchildren, Joshua Hockaday and wife Libby of Wilson and Janna Plummer of Willow Spring and five great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Thursday, September 6th from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M. at Montlawn Funeral Home in Raleigh.
