Obituary of Lellon Pearce
Lellon Dudley Pearce, 89, went to meet her Lord on Monday, January 12, 2015. She was a retired dietician from Dorothea Dix Hospital where she met her husband Frederick W. Pearce. She was famous for her cooking and baking cakes. Lellon and Fred would cook at St. Barnabas Presbyterian Church, where they were longstanding members. Lellon was a member of the Raleigh Civitan Club for over 30 years. She also was an active member of the Garner Senior Center where she enjoyed taking part in swimming classes.
Surviving are her son Jerry Wayne Pearce and wife Mary Charlie of Garner; sister Mary Doris Dudley Altman of Fayetteville; one grandchild and three great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by husband, Frederick Wayne Pearce; son, James Ray Gainey; and brothers, Roy Addison Dudley, Earl Lee Dudley and Woodrow Dudley.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Thursday at St. Barnabas Presbyterian Church. Interment will follow at Montlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at Montlawn Funeral Home from 7-9 pm Wednesday.
