Obituary of Leo Tegtmeier

Leo Erich Tegtmeier, 90, of Wake Forest, NC. died Tuesday, Jan. 14, 2014 at the VA Medical Center in Durham. He is survived by his wife Joan, son Erich, daughter Susan Casey of Raleigh, sons-in-law Walker Casey and Kevin Douglas, grand children Steven Wade and Kimberly Racey and great grand daughters, Lauren and Leah Racey.

Leo was born on May 11,1923 in Bremerhaven, Germany and immigrated to the USA with his family in 1926 living in the Bronx, NY. He was a WWII vet serving in the Pacific theater from 1943-1946. Leo and Joan were married on Feb. 29,1948. Leo worked as a plumber until the family relocated to Poughkeepsie, NY in 1966 where he managed Exxon stations until retirement. The Tegtmeiers moved to Wake Forest, NC. in 1999 to enjoy being close to family.

Services will be held at: Montlawn Memorial Park, 2911 South Wilmington St. Raleigh,NC. on Saturday, Jan. 18, 2014. Visitation: 1 PM
