Obituary of Linwood McCray

Linwood E. McCray, 78, passed away at his home in Raleigh, NC on Wednesday, May 12, 2010.

The family will receive friends from 12:00-1:00pm, Saturday, May 15 at Montlawn Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow in the Montlawn Funeral Home Chapel at 1:00pm.

Linwood served in the Korean War in Germany from 1952 until 1954 earning The Gold Conduct Medal, The Army Occupational Medal, and The National Defense Service Medal. He served as a Scout Master for the Boy Scouts in Landover Hills, MD as well as retiring from the Postal Service.

Linwood is survived by his sons, Michael McCray and wife Sherry of Wake Forest, NC, Kevin McCray of Raleigh, NC, Shawn McCray and Sherri Oakley of Owings, MD, Darren McCray and wife Marlene of Las Vegas, NV; daughter, Maureen McCray Cashen of Wake Forest, NC; 11 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Linwood is preceded in death by his wife, Peggy Ann McCray and his son Terry McCray.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society Mosaic website in memory of Linwood Earl and Peggy Ann McCray.
