Obituary of Lois Dewar

Lois Inez Morris Dewar, 94, of Garner, passed away peacefully in her sleep, Thursday evening, October 25, 2012 at her residence.

A Funeral Service will be held 2:00 p.m. Sunday, October 28, 2012 at Montlawn Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Montlawn Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1 - 2 p.m. Sunday prior to the service.

Born April 4, 1918 in Wake County, NC, Lois was the daughter of the late Sankey Morris and Cora Mills Morris. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Shelton Avery Dewar; infant son, Benton Dewar; brother, Luther Morris; and sister, Cammie MacPherson.

Lois is survived by her daughters, Mary Dewar Capps and husband Cravon of Garner, and Nancy Dewar Moody of Garner; grandchildren, Melissa Moody Goodwin and husband Robert of Garner, Michael Capps and wife Gretchen of Chapel Hill, William D. Moody, Jr. of Surf City, NC, Carson Capps of Garner; great-grandchildren, Mckenzie Grace Capps, Harrison Benton Capps, and Parker Elizabeth Capps, all of Chapel Hill; 3 Nephews; furry granddogs, Butler, Foxy, Red, and Dean.

Lois retired from the State of North Carolina Division of Motor Vehicles in 1983 after 25 years of dedicated service. She was a loving mother, grandmother and sister, and was very devoted to her family. Lois enjoyed traveling, quilting, gardening, and working on crafts. She attended Pilot Baptist Church in Raleigh for many years. Lois will truly be missed by those she leaves behind.
