Lois Marie Vick Garrett passed away peacefully Tuesday, June 3, 2025.

Lois was born on September 12, 1929, the youngest of six children born to Arthur and Minnie Vick; her five siblings were Eldrige, Hinton, Harry, Henry, and Helen Vick, all of whom preceded Lois in passing.

Lois was married to Ernest Marine Garrett (who predeceased her) for more than 61 years. Their marriage procreated three children, Lois Rebecca Garrett Hoover (Don), of Holly Springs, NC; E.W. (Ernest Wald) Garrett, of Newnan, GA; and Wanda Lynn Garrett Hurst (Darrell), of Georgetown, TX.

Lois has four grandsons: Paul Michael Garrett, Jason Aaron Hoover, Timothy Adam Garrett, and Matthew Tyler Hurst; and three great grandchildren: Ethan, Kameryn and Sadie Garrett.

Lois was a devoted member of New Hope Baptist Church for more than 50 years. She will always be remembered for her faith, kindness, grace, compassion, and love of family.

The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to New Hope Baptist Church, 4301 Louisburg Rd., Raleigh, NC 27604, in remembrance of Lois.
