Loretta "Jean" Kendall Ward, 80, of Apex passed away Friday June 28th , 2024, surrounded by her loved ones. Jean was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She was a faithful servant to God and loved her Church family especially her Sunday School Class. She enjoyed her mornings sitting on the porch with the love of her life watching the birds and drinking coffee. Her passion and greatest joy was working at the Raleigh Rescue Mission helping others.
Jean was preceeded in death by her parents Clyde and Letha Kendall, brothers Alex, ZT and Junior Kendall, sister and best friend Faye Etheridge and Son Alex Ward. Jean is survived by her Husband of 62 years Larry C. Ward, Brother Clyde Kendall (Diane) of Four Oaks, Son Chris Ward (Wendy) of Zebulon, Grandchildren Christopher Ward (Christina) of Zebulon, Stephen Ward (Christi) of Spring Hope, Jennifer Ennis (Ben) of New Hill, Ryan Ward and Lauren Ward of Apex. Great grandchildren Cheyane Ward (boyfriend Stormy) of Zebulon, Landen Ward and Waylen Ward of Wake Forest, Adalynn Ward and Alivia Ward of Spring Hope, CarLee Ennis of New Hill, Jamie Edwards of Zebulon, Lilly Edwards (Fiance Zach) of Spring Hope and Mason Price of Zebulon. Great great grandchildren Oaklynn Shirley and Violet Shirley of Spring Hope.
Services for Loretta "Jean" Kendall Ward will be held on Saturday July 13th 4pm at Garner Church of God, 2208 Benson Road, Garner, NC 27529 with graveside services to follow at Montlawn Cemetery at 2911 S. Wilmington St., Raleigh, NC 27603. The family will have visitation Friday July 12th from 6-8 pm at the Montlawn Funeral Home Chapel, 2911 S. Wilmington St., Raleigh, NC 27603.
Flowers are welcomed or in lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to the Raleigh Rescue Mission or Garner Church of God Missions in Jean's honor.
