The Oberly, Gleh, Johnson, Matthews, Gboluma announce with tremendous sorrow and humbling acceptance of God's will, the homegoing of our dear daughter, mother, sister, aunty, and friend, Ms. Lorpu Mawoelo Matthews. This sad event occurred on the morning of Tuesday, August 16, 2022, in Chapel Hill, North Carolina.

She leaves to mourn her loss and celebrate her life and legacy, her mother Jegbo Gleh Gboluma and her children Maggie Korpo Oberly, Eleatria Annette Odom, Marva Garmai Matthews, and George Benjamin Moses Weekes. As well as her siblings M. Yassah Gboluma Akwarandu, Emmanuel Gboluma, Christopher Oberly, Irene Gboluma-Dennis, and Love Garmai Johnson.

Lorpu was predeceased by her father, Cornelius K. Oberly, and her brother Moses Gboluma.

May her soul and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God rest in peace and rise in glory.

The wake service for Lorpu will be held from 6-9 pm on Friday, September 2, 2022 at Boddy of Christ Church, 4501 Spring Forest Rd., Raleigh, NC 27616.

A funeral service will be held from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm on Saturday, September 3, 2022 at Body of Christ Church. A time of viewing will be held from 9-10 am prior to the service beginning. .

Repast Information will be given at the Church following the interment.
