Obituary of Lou Dodd

Lou Wilkins Dodd, 83, of Raleigh, passed away Thursday morning, March 29, 2012 at Rex Hospital.

A Funeral Service will be held 2:00 p.m. Sunday, April 1, 2012 at Montlawn Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Montlawn Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1-2:00 p.m. Sunday, prior to the service.

Born June 8, 1928 in Wake County, NC, Lou was the daughter of the late Arthur and Martha Wilkins. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sister, Pauline Riley.

Lou is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, Jack Benny Dodd, Jr.; son, Ken Dodd and wife Smithy of Raleigh; grandchildren, Daniel and Laura Dodd of Raleigh; sisters Edith Beasley and husband Redford of Raleigh, Mozelle Coats of Garner, and Frances Williams of Clayton and several nieces and nephews.

Lou was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and was dedicated to her family. She was a member of The Salvation Army Church in Raleigh. She will be sorely missed.
