IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Louis Dale
Gullie
February 24, 1953 – July 29, 2023
On Saturday, July 29th 2023 our beloved son, brother, father, friend to many and PopPop peacefully went to meet his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Louis "Dale" Gullie was born February 24, 1953 to the late Elton (Buddy) and Shirley Gullie. Dale attended Enloe High School and worked many years at his Dad's service station in Raleigh, NC. He later worked and retired from DeWalt where he formed many lifelong friendships. Dale was a simple man with three things he held dear to his heart: his family, his friends, and his passion for softball. Dale was inducted into the NC USSSA Softball Hall of Fame in 2011 and was well respected within the softball community. He held many Championship Titles and loved to share his knowledge of the game with teammates nationwide. Through his love of the game and just enjoying life, many lifelong friendships were formed. Through his many years of softball and sports, Dale was able to continue his passion through his grandson, Bryce Andrew Gullie. There was never a conversation where his pride and joy, Bryce, was not mentioned. In the last year, Dale had several special caregivers, and the family would like to extend a special thank you to his sister-in-law (Sandra), his son (Brian), and the William M. Dunlap Center for Caring-"Hospice Home." A graveside service will be held at 2pm on Thursday, August 3rd at Montlawn Cemetary in Raleigh . To celebrate his love for the Wolfpack and his beloved softball teams, the family would love for all to wear red, black and/or white.
Family and friends are welcome for visitation at the home of Brian, Sarah, and Bryce Gullie from 6-8pm on Wednesday, August 2nd (Fuquay Varina).
