Obituary of Louise Johnson

Louise Terrell Johnson, 86, passed away peacefully at home April 1, 2013 surrounded by her family. She was born July 10, 1926 in Prince George County, VA. Louise was the last surviving child of John Avent and Verona Richards Terrell. She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, David O. Johnson, a daughter, Marie Sollars, four brothers and four sisters

Louise was a faithful member of Calvary Baptist Church in Raleigh for many years where she served in many capacities. In recent years she was a member of Longview Baptist Church. Louise spent most of her adult life as a homemaker where she devoted all her time and energy to her husband and raising her children. In later years her joy was spending time with her grandchildren and more recently her great grandchildren.

She is survived by her daughter, Sandra C. Johnson; son, David Wayne Johnson, both of Raleigh; son in-law, Johnny Sollars of Wendell, eight grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren; sisters in-law, Carolyn Terrell of Roanoke, VA, Pearl Barnhill and Lois Johnson, both of Burgaw and Wilma Day of Ohio as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank Hospice of Wake County for the amazing care they have provided for nine months and a special thanks to her caregivers, Susie Wheeler and Sue Strickland.

Funeral Service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday at Montlawn Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Montlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 -8 Tuesday.
