Obituary of Lucille Crabtree

Lucille Richardson Crabtree passed away peacefully at Nash General Hospital in Rocky Mount, NC on Saturday, March 20, 2010.

The family will receive friends at 1:00pm Tuesday, March 23, 2010 at Montlawn Funeral Home. Services are to follow in the chapel at Montlawn and a graveside service will follow in Montlawn Memorial Park.

Born on August 17, 1921 in Raleigh to Henry and Ruth Richardson, she grew up in Raleigh graduating from Cary High School then attending King Business College. Lucille married the late Thomas Lyndon Crabtree in 1949. Lucille worked in Washington, DC for the Department of Agriculture. Upon her return to Raleigh, Lucille settled in Garner where she resided until 2008. Lucille was employed by the State of North Carolina and retired after 29 years of service. She loved cooking, bird watching, and gardening. Lucile was a long time member of First Presbyterian Church of Garner.

Lucille is survived by her son, Tom and wife Carol; grandchildren, Lauren and Alex, all of Garner; sisters, Ann and Sandra; brother, Bobby; niece and nephew, Ruth and Jack. She is preceded in death by her husband Tom to whom she was married for 61 years; brothers, Albert, Melvin, Roland; and sister Christine.
