Lydia Davis Waters, 98, of Raleigh died Sunday, January 28, 2018. She was born November 2, 1919 in Johnston County, daughter of the late Jesse E. and Sylvia Tew Davis. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Earl G. Waters, Sr., her son, Earl Glenn Waters, Jr., and siblings, Lillie Massengill, Sherman Davis, Alma Smith, Louise Brown and Zona Addison.
Mrs. Waters was a long-time member of Westover United Methodist Church in Raleigh.
A funeral service will be held Friday, February 2, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. in the Montlawn Funeral Home chapel with Rev. Claire Clyburn officiating. Burial will follow in Montlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 10:00 - 11:00 A.M.
She is survived by two sons, Larry R. Waters and wife Diane of Cary and Kenneth W. Waters and wife Kathryn of Raleigh, a daughter-in-law, Ondra Waters Tew of Fayetteville, a brother, J.E. Davis and wife Barbara of Salemburg, three sisters, Nadine Driggers and husband Bill of Hampstead, Margie Wilson of Fayetteville and Frances Jones of Godwin, four grandchildren, Kim Waters Gold, Corey Lyn Waters, Larry Waters, Jr. and Kenneth Waters, Jr., a step-grandson, Greg Wrench, a great-granddaughter, Vanessa C. Wilson, two step-great-grandchildren, Kacey Wrench and Jansen Wrench, and numerous beloved nieces and nephews.
