IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Maggie Mae
Vick
September 15, 1937 – August 11, 2024
Mae Vick of Apex, passed away on August 11, 2024. Mae was born on September 15, 1937 to the late Henry Merlon and Maggie Elizabeth Barnes of Wilson County, NC.
Mae was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Tommy. She is survived by her son, Billy Vick (Debra) of Benson, and daughter, Connie Eagloski (Ted) of Rock Hill, SC; grandchildren Leslie Brown, Karson Vick Galati (Michael), Kayla Patton (Ethan), Krista Vick, Adam Vick (Cora), Kelsey Bronander (Luke), Camden Ryan (Matt); great-grandsons Ashton Hamilton, Austin Hamilton, Fletcher Patton, Lachlan Patton, Callahan Patton, and great-granddaughter Vivian Galati. She is also survived by her sister, Bonnie Kaye Stith; along with many nieces and nephews.
Mae held many roles in life but her most important was wife and mother. The only one she loved more than her family was her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Anyone that knew Mae knew that she was a follower of Jesus.
Her last vocational role in life was owner of Dayspring Flowers and Gifts in Apex. She and her closest friend, Dot Tysinger, started Dayspring essentially as a hobby but turned into the best known florist in the Fairview Community of Apex. She loved working with her hands and creating floral arrangements was an extension of that.
In her later years, although her health was failing, she enjoyed spending time with family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. They meant the absolute world to her and she was so proud of each of them.
The family will receive visitors at Montlawn Funeral Home in Raleigh on Friday, August 16, from 5:00-7:00pm. The funeral will be held at Fairview Baptist Church in Apex, on Saturday, August 17, at 11:00am, to be followed by a graveside service at Montlawn Cemetary.
Mae was a long time member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, Fuquay-Varina. She then became one of the founders, and charter members, of Fairview Baptist Church, Apex. Mae loved both of these churches and the witness that these churches are for Jesus Christ. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Fairview Baptist Church, Missions Fund, (5608 Ten-Ten Road, Apex, NC 27539).
