RALEIGH

Magnus Tyree Lane at the age of 41, went home to be with the Lord.  He died from a Cardiopulmonary Arrest on October 8, 2020 in Raleigh, North Carolina. Magnus is survived by his son, Airman First Class Tyree E. Lane of Colorado Springs, Colorado, his mother, Gloria Lane of Hampton, Virginia, father, Edward Lane of Raleigh, North Carolina, sister Sabrina Goodnight of New Castle, PA. and a grandmother Celestine T. Johnson of Hampton, Virginia. He is further survived by numerous uncles, aunts, cousins and a host of friends.

He was preceded in death by his maternal Grandfather Harold Applewhite Sr. of Hampton, Virginia, Paternal Grandmother Inez Umphrey of Raleigh, North Carolina and Paternal Grandfather, Frank Lane of Brooklyn, New York.

Magnus attended high school at Widefield High in Widefield, Colorado and he also attended Wake Technology Community College in, Raleigh, North Carolina.

He was recently employed with N.C. State University dining facility as a prep cook and he was a driver for Domino's Pizza at Fayetteville Road.

In the family life he was a loving son, grandson, father, brother and friend.

In his social life, Magnus was dedicated to helping others. He loved Life, the Lord and his church.  His activities in life were fishing, fishing and fishing. He also enjoyed working on his car.

A memorial in the Spring of 2021 is being planned in order to respect the pandemic.
